Roots love drains, they wrap their small roots around pipes to find weaknesses and when they find a small gap usually on a pipe joint they find a way into the pipe.
Root cutting using the latest equipment
Roots love drains They wrap their small roots around pipes to find weaknesses and when they find a small gap usually on a pipe joint they find a way into the pipe. Once in the pipe the roots can grow to open up the entry point.
We can cut most roots out of the drain using our root cutting equipment in conjunction with our high pressure water jetter carried on board our well-equipped vans.
The root cutting equipment cuts the roots using very high pressure water with a rotating nozzle acting as a cutting tool. We also have more traditional methods which use the spinning mechanical cutters powered by high pressure water. These will clear 99% of roots entering the pipe in a foul drain.
The root cutting alongside a patch liner or liner over the root ingress point will eliminate blockages and prevent further root growth inside the pipe for the foreseeable future. We have never had any roots enter the pipe once a patch liner or a liner has been installed. This is a non dig method so no excavating is required.
In a storm water pipe if the roots get into the pipe and cause a blockage the roots will be much more established in the pipe by this time. It may be too late to root cut once a storm water pipe has been blocked for some time as the roots will be 100% grown into the pipe. In these extreme cases the only solution is to excavate and replace the pipe.
